Butter Swim Biscuits Recipe

These butter swim biscuits are a delightful addition to any meal. They are flaky, buttery, and absolutely irresistible. With just a few simple ingredients and minimal effort, you can whip up a batch of these delicious biscuits in no time.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup whole milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, work the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the whole milk. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix. The dough will be slightly sticky.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently pat it into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
  6. Using a sharp knife or a biscuit cutter, cut the dough into squares or circles, depending on your preference.
  7. Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
  8. Melt the remaining butter and brush it generously over the tops of the biscuits.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top and cooked through.
  10. Serve warm with butter, jam, or your favorite topping. Enjoy!

These butter swim biscuits are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, but they can also be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Simply reheat them in the oven or microwave before serving to restore their flakiness.
